Obama has made a grave error. He has let the cat out of the bag where our military deployment is concerned. Granted, we have many thousands of soldiers home now and if not re deployed elsewere, they will be on the job market here at home, or on the streets like the Viet Nam vets. So the obvious answer is to find a new place to send them. Not to war, just to oversee a region. Naturally Eastern and Southeastern Asia comes to mind. But to announce the plan to deploy more soldiers to Australia, Japan, Korea, and other willing nations in the area to offset the dominance of China is just a damn fool slip of the lip. Why did he say such a stupid thing? So far, we have been trading with China and have borrowed billions and billions of dollars from them to run our stupid war in Iraq and our stupid war in Afghanistan. Great! We got Osama and Saddam…now bring the soldiers home and re deploy…..but NOT to defend against China as an enemy in trade or otherwise. Even if that is the ultimate truth, it should not have been said in so many words. Far better to say that we are worried about the stability of the region because of North Korea. That is a simple and true statment and would have kept the fat out of the fire for a bit longer. Of course North Korea is China’s laptop pit bull, but diplomacy is the far better plan here and I for one am now concerned about getting all our medicine from China…like we are doing at this very minute. What the Hell! Obama..you put your foot in it!
Fuck up number two! He is ok with arresting American citizens like you or me without due process, no smoking gun, no body, no real accusation…and then detaining such citizens indefinitely. What happens to our civil rights. A jury of our peers? Swift justice? Is he trying to become a dictator? Does he want me thrown in jail because I disagree with Citizens United or want our wars to be approved by congress, or that I want our military uncoupled from corporate America? I voted for your ass dude …now do you want me to be thrown in jail because I disagree with you? Can you just send someone to knock down my door and haul my butt to jail without a trial. Guess so…..gee, I thought this was America the Free! Guess again……………….
Oh…by the way, the link to Art13.com is now down. My paintings can be seen throughout the earlier postings on this blog and I will eventually get around to putting up a new website..but with the economy so bad and no one actually trying to buy new houses and paintings to hang in their new houses..its a waste of time.
